Sajen strives to preserve ancient and indigenous healing food and beverages and offer them to you as health and wellness products. We begin with Jamu, healing beverages of the Javanese and Balinese traditions of Indonesia, as it deserves to be honored, preserved, and remembered.
We blend our Jamu, using fresh roots and the recipes of our ancestral grandmothers that are handed down through oral tradition and infused with positive intentions. Some Jamu blends as aphrodisiac and some blends keeps diseases away from man. Average Indonesians use Jamu as beverages in conjunction with other healing methods such as luluran and parem massages.

Our Story

Sajen was opened for business in August 2008 by offering two Jamu blends: Turmeric and Ginger Turmeric. Making Jamu is our family tradition.
Our ancestral grandmothers blended Jamu for their families and their neighbors in small hamlets (Para’an and Gagaran) in the mountainous region in Central Java, Indonesia. They blended Jamu using only organic fresh ingredients. These same blends are what Sajen is offering to you. Our founder, Morsinah Katimin, was raised in the Jamu culture, and she fondly remembers drinking Jamu Turmeric daily and receiving monthly luluran massages from her grandmother.
